I wanted to be many things, but a writer never entered my mind. In my elementary days, it was a stewardess and then a nurse. In my high school years, an accountant. As time passed, I realized what I wanted most was to be a housewife and a stay at home mother. My dreams all came true. I've been happily married for 31 years and a mother for 24 years. The stay at home part didn't last though.

When the boys went to school, I decided to volunteer in their school's library once a week. That turned into three years, then the district hired me as a media tech. I have been employed for fifteen years.

My love and knowledge of children's literature developed into a passion for wanting to write for children.  I've seen children sit spell-bound waiting for the next part of a story. I've heard them gasp in anticipation. I've witnessed them trying to figure out what happens next. They have laughed out loud at silliness and bowed their heads embarrassed I might see their emotion at a sad part.

Since I have never written professionally, I had to figure out  where to begin. After some research, I decided on a basic writing course  through the Institute of Children's Literature. (ICL) I now have two diploma's in children's writing and have multiple magazine articles published.

My routine...
Welcome to my home in my home, which used to be my oldest son's bedroom and is now a small office with a desk, computer several book cases and a recently purchased  parlor set I bought at a resale shop. I spend several hours of each day in this space and love most every minute I'm in here.

There are those days that nothing happens except, " one brain fart after another", but for the most part many magazine articles and a couple of books have been researched and written in here.

Most recently my picture book story, "Little Nymph Grows Up." was one of three finalist in the Michigan Elementary & Middle School Principals Association (MEMSPA) contest. There were 226 entries.
